On November 2, 2024, the long-awaited Goddesses & Gods runway show hit center stage at 360 Spaces in Miami Beach, pairing fashion and culture with sustainability for one unparalleled evening of innovation. The brainchild of Stacey Ramia at Itero Consulting in collaboration with DesignLab Miami, this event was an opportunity to witness the next generation of fashion designers dedicated to eco-friendly processes and drawing their inspiration from Mexico's Dia De Los Muertos.

Fashion enthusiasts, artists, and community alike came together for an electric evening showcasing a phenomenal array of upcycled costumes created by young talents from DesignLab Miami under the mentorship of its founder Angie Mejia-Cohen. The eclectic costumes seamlessly merged traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, paying homage to the cultural relevance of Dia De Los Muertos, which celebrates life and death through bold, colorful expressions of artistry.

Godesses & Gods was a testament to the power of sustainable fashion, showing just how creative up-and-coming designers can be as they rethink the future of the industry. Each piece in this collection was thoughtfully designed from upcycled materials, showing what fashion can look like while still being considerate of the environment.

“I am thrilled to see young designers consider the environmental impact of their work. Mindfulness and awareness of our resources are crucial in this transformative journey," said Stacey Ramia, CEO of Itero Consulting. "It is quite exciting to witness these young designers push boundaries of sustainability with designs that not only are alluringly aesthetically pleasing but also meaningful."

The show opened with the memorable design video by VLACKBOOK and a performance by award-winning vocalist Maya Azucena, whose commanding voice filled the room, immediately setting a tone both poignant and celebratory. Accomplished in international humanitarian work, it was fitting for Azucena to make the performance to celebrate the Dia De Los Muertos & upcycled fashion theme.

The guests were also treated to an immersive musical experience by DJ Ahuan, who prepared an Afro and melodic house music set that matched the energy of the runway. Inspired by the likes of Black Coffee and Bedouin, his mix turned up an atmosphere of elegance and excitement throughout the evening.

The runway presentation was choreographed by former Miami Heat dancer Dawn Price, who had the models' movements dance down the runway as fluid and vibrant as their costumes. From floral headpieces to embroidered garments, the stunning upcycled creations came into their element as confident models strutted down the catwalk and brought into the foreground both the cultural and environmental themes.

Proceeds of the evening went to DesignLab Give, a nonprofit that aims to break the cycle of poverty through innovative projects and education for underprivileged youth. Guests of the event were also encouraged to make donations, which will go toward funding scholarships and mentorship opportunities for aspiring young creatives.

DesignLab Miami is one such corporation, under the guidance of Angie Mejia-Cohen, which has undertaken various initiatives for the nurturing and teaching of the next generation of fashion designers through workshops and adherence to environmental sustainability. The success of Goddesses & Gods is but a yardstick of their commitment to giving young designers the wherewithal to undertake with assurance the ever-changing requirements of the world of fashion.

Goddesses & Gods at 360 Spaces was more than a runway show but an unforgettable night of creativity, culture, and the power of sustainable fashion. And with that, attendees departed, touched and electrified, knowing they had experienced a moment in fashion history. It was a night of magic done through designers, artists, and performers who work for positive change, proving what is possible when
